Manufacturing process for filter heat exchangers

Energy-efficient ventilation equipment integrated into windows

Working together with Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, ProVentecs is developing an automated manufacturing process to make prototypes of a filter heat exchanger with particularly small distances between the plates.

This compact design means that they can be fitted below a window sill in the window frame itself. The small distances in the filter heat exchanger permit the manufacture of stand-alone, pressure-resistant ventilation equipment integrated into windows. This means that a modern ventilation system can be fitted when existing buildings are renovated, without making additional holes in walls. The aim is a heat recovery rate of 85-90 per cent.

The project is financed with funding from the European Union and the State of Bremen – by the Senator for Climate Change Mitigation, Environment, Mobility, Urban Development and Housing Construction under the Applied Environmental Research funding programme.
