Establishment of a fund to attract and hold academic congresses

The State of Bremen’s university and higher-education institutions do not have facilities of their own which are suitable for major academic congresses and conventions (with an international impact). The newly established fund is intended to enable these institutions in the State of Bremen to hold academic congresses in the existing trade-fair and congress facilities and thus to utilise those facilities which are suitable for certain events. However, the fund is not restricted to congresses and conventions of the university and the higher-education institutions, but is also available for the research institutes and other organisers of academic events.

The efforts to attract academic congresses supplement and support the strategy to position Bremen as a centre of innovation, science and technology.
