FIELAX Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH, a scientific data processing company, is receiving assistance to realise a project with the scientific objective of surveying the spread of algae on the areas of the Wadden Sea around Heligoland and recording any changes in growth over the long term. To this end, pictures will be taken from the air using a sensor in a motorised glider. The light spectra picked up by the sensor subsequently need to be processed by computer in several steps before they can be scientifically evaluated. The project partners are the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and OHBSystem AG.

In the course of the project, FIELAX GmbH has gained special insights into the computer processing of data and is now in a position to expand the range of its scientific and technical services and to use this expertise in remote earth observation projects.

The assistance made it possible to commission a temporary staff member and an undergraduate with the development of a data processing chain, with the staff member subsequently being given a permanent contract.

Vacances GmbH und Bremer Pflegedienst GmbH

These two companies are receiving ERDF assistance in order to collaborate on the model project At home in the neighbourhood with academic backing from the Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP) of Bremen University. Also co-operating on the project are GEWOBA AG and Gesundheit Nord gGmbH.

Service modules entitled Saluto are being developed in the project for the tenants and customers of the Bremen-based housing company GEWOBA, with a view to supporting the people in all fields of health and home-help services in the district. Due to wide-ranging co-operation with quality-approved suppliers, Saluto will help people to live an independent life, particularly in old age, by providing tailored support. As part of the project, a separate company has been set up in order to market the Saluto services.
